Johnny Carson was the king of late night television during the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Under Johnny Carson “The Tonight Show” became an American institution. There are few Americans over forty or so who didn’t make watching Johnny Carson the last thing on their nightly “must do” list before going to sleep for the night.
Born in Corning, IA on October 23, 1925, Carson grew up in Norfolk, NE. Johnny Carson began his career at age 14 with a magic act called “The Great Carsoni”.
